Comfortable holiday home in private forest. Hidden amidst the greenery of Twente, you’ll find a modern and cleverly designed 70 m² holiday home on a unique wooded embankment measuring 30 by 100 meters.

With care for people, animals, and the environment
Water recycling
We host you consciously. Rain, bath, and kitchen water is collected in an underground reservoir and used to water the garden. Instead of being connected to the sewer, we’re linked to a septic tank.
Wastewater is naturally purified and returns to the forest. For that reason, it’s mandatory to use the biodegradable cleaning products we provide. Otherwise, the living organisms in the tank die, and harmful substances could enter the forest.
Wildlife
Various animals visit our land: green and spotted woodpeckers (like Bob), many birds, squirrels, pheasants, hares – and sometimes even a deer in the fields around the house. Currently, a buzzard is nesting nearby. Our house is right in the heart of nature, so curious animals such as pheasants but also insects might come and visit.
Surrounding our wooded embankment is farmland. Right now, corn is growing, making your stay even more private during summer.

Charming Diepenheim is known for its six castles (Havezaten) located in and around the village. Perfect for a scenic walk or bike ride. In town, you’ll find lovely terraces, a brocante shop, theater, and a supermarket.
You don’t have to leave, but if you want to explore – this scenic landscape has plenty to offer:

– Twickel Estate (15 min.)
– Regional Market in Delden every first Saturday of the month (15 min)

About us
Our Story
We are Arno (52) and Marlies (49), two entrepreneurs from Amsterdam and parents of two teenage sons. In 2022, we started a special adventure: we bought a plot in Diepenheim with an old, dilapidated holiday home. We instantly saw the charm of the place – and its potential. Arno loves DIY, Marlies has worked in tourism for over 20 years, and together we enjoy designing things.
Within ten months, a new house stood here – built with love for the environment and with the help of local craftsmen as much as possible. Because in Twente, Naoberschap (neighborly support) is more than a beautiful word – it’s a way of life. Helping each other, staying involved, offering advice and assistance – that’s exactly what we’ve experienced here. We are incredibly grateful for the warm connections we’ve built in this community.
The forest around the house has come back to life, and what was once a ruin is now a place where peace, nature, and connection come together. We now spend many of our weekends here with family and friends. And when we’re not around, we love sharing this special place with others.
